Westside Makes It’s Mark In The Muck Against Grandpark!

The big game in the junior pee wee division last week was westside versus grandpark. It was a tough and rugged contest between two strong teams in arguably the best division in Pop Warner this year. Grandpark went undefeated last year in division one on their way to a deep playoff run. They returned this year with high hopes after shutting out the Oceanway Bucs Black team last week. But this week Westside had another “westside story” for them than last year. In 2014 Westside went 0-8 failing to register a win. But in 2015, the team has already shown that last year is a distant memory.

The Wildcats knew that in order to defeat the defending Greater Jacksonville Junior Pee Wee champions, they would have to make lots of plays, and they did just that. It was #5 their tailback that used his speed to run past defenders. He also used his athleticism to break tackles. When he broke his long touchdown of the day there was a kid overheard in the stands yelling …..

” Momma there goes that man!!”

There’s sure to be a lot of people yelling  that this year when facing Westside. Westside would defeat Grandpark 7-0 on the evening. The Wildcats go to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in division play.  Grandpark drops to (1-1) on the season and (0-1) in the division. These two teams will almost certainly see each other again down the road. But for Westside, a significant mark was made, and it was a big win for the team.
