Forest View Shuts Down Grandpark; Wins Division

If you’ve been following the pop warner football scene here on Duval Sports you’ve probably noticed how high we’ve been on the Forestview Steelers in the Junior Pee Wee division. The Steelers have spent the majority of their time atop our youth football power rankings. The only reason they wern’t there is because they’re schedule wasn’t the toughest in the beginning. Yet Forestview (6-0, 4-0)  just keeps winning and last Saturday they went into a tough game against a very tough team the Grand Park Trojans.

The Trojans are the defending city champions and came into the season with a target on their back. Even with the bulls eye, the Trojans came into the game with just one loss to Westside, and undefeated in the division. So this game would be for the division title and the #1 seed in the playoffs.

Both teams came out dominating on defense on the afternoon. The Tiger’s defensive line dominated the line of scrimmage, while Grandpark’s linebackers roamed sideline to sideline making it hard for Forestview to finish drives. But the Steelers were able to capitalize on field position and drive the ball to the one yard line. Quarterback Chris Calhoun #1 scored on a one yard QB sneak to win the game.
