Arlington Seminoles vs CYAA Wolverines

Pee Wee Div II

The Wolverines come into the playoff game as the third best team in the division. They have a tough defense that’s held several teams to minimal points this year. In a loss, Forestview only scored 7 points, they held West Duval to six points in a win, and BYAA to 6 points in a win. So the team knows how to stiffen on defense. The offense has made strides and looks to try and keep pace with Arlington who they lost to 20-6 in the regular season.

Arlington has the second best record and a very strong running game. Their only division loss was to Normandy.Their offense has scored at least 20 points in three games this season, including a win over the Wolverines. The Seminoles will look to use their speed to out race the Wolverin tough defense.

Final: Arlington 19 vs CYAA 0

Grand Park Trojans vs Mandarin Tigers

Pee Wee Div 1-B

Grandpark rolled through their division at 4-0 and their only loss came to Sweetwater via forfeit. The Trojans average 24 points per game and have an explosive high powered offense. But their defense is what leads this team. Grandpark has five shutouts on the season and only allowed 7 points to Scott Park. They will look to stop the passing attack of Mandarin.

The Mustangs earned an incredible last second victory of Oceanway to get the final playoff spot. Mandarin has a high powered passing attack which they will use to try and spread out the Trojans defense.  The Mustangs have had an up and down season, and can pull it al together if they can get a win in the playoffs. They posses one of the best wide receivers in the city, so anything is possible.

Sweet Water Eagles vs Arlington

Arlington went.500 in the division and finished the regular season at 3-4. It was a grinding season for the Noles who had to fight through every game to make it to the playoffs. This fighting attitude is a testament to their coaching and the players. However they face the best team in the Unlimited division today, the Sweetwater Eagles.

The Eagles are fast and powerful and look to finish off the Noles quick. It’s how they’ve won most of their games. They’re averaging over 30 points per game against teams named other than Grand Park. Two shutouts on defense and the offense put up 53 points in one game this season. The Eagles will be ready today.

Grand Park Panthers vs Mandarin Tigers

Mandarin pieced together a very good season. At 3-3 in the division and 4-3 overall the team knew both the joys of winning and the lessons from defeat. Experience should help them in the playoffs as they take on the #2 seed Grandpark Panthers. The Panther’s only loss came to Sweetwater where they held a team scoring 30 plus points a game to just 19. They have a multidimensional offense that can attack from every angle on the field. Mandarin is capable of scoring 30 points a game as well as they showed in the regular season, but it will be a tall order to do so against Grand Park.

Sweet Water Hawks vs Scott Park Gators

One of the best running backs in the city plays for the Sweetwater Hawks. If you catch him play you will know who he is the minute he touches the ball. He is not the entire offense for the Hawks, but he is the home run hitter for them. They were unchallenged in the division and most likely will be unchallenged in the playoffs, but one team will have something to say about that.

Scott Park finished second in their division and tied for the best overall record at 6-1. They can run with the best of them and the Gators look to run up and down to quicken the pace of the game. Its no secret that the Gators have talent and they outmatched teams this season with that talent. but now they face a team that can match that talent, so they must raise the stakes in order to get the victory.

Sweet Water Falcons vs Grandpark Seahawks

Sweetwater was one of the best teams in the Junior Midget Division. A division that features all Junior Midget divisional parks together. It’s a knock down drag out divisision where the best teams must prove it, and Sweetwater proved they are one of the best.

Grandpark had a up and down yet successful season.. At 4-3 they achieved another winning season, but not to the standards of your typical Seahawk team. Nonetheless they made the playoffs and in the playoffs its a different season. They will look to start this new season with their biggest win of the year, against Sweetwater.

Forest View Tigers vs Westside Wildcats

popwarner pic1

Forestview is the best team in Junior Midget and will look to continue their dominance over a division that they did so against this year. They are a well balanced team with many weapons. They can deploy any weapon at anytime and a game you think your close in will suddenly be out of reach. The Tigers and Wildcats played pretty tough earlier in the year wit hthe Tigers winning 12-0. It will take alot for this game to be as close.

Westside plays with alot of emotion. That emotion fuels them to great heights in games. However that emotion can also be a hindrance if not controlled and that’s basically the season in a nutt shell for the Wildcats. Westside proved they can play tough with anyone. They can match the intensity and they can win games. Four times they did this, but 3 times another team got the best of them. It’s no coincidence that one of those three times was a loss to their opponent today the Forestview Tigers.
