Fletcher
Fletcher returns 26 seniors and the majority of the players are on offense. The Senators look to create explosiveness with running backs Matt Henderson and Mareek Pitts. A bit of a change from the power running style of their fullback lead offense from years past. The new offense has coaches optimistic about the teams potential on the season.
The new offense will be lead by Junior QB Augie Debiose , a transfer from Providence H.S that has the ability to pass and run. Fletcher will attempt to move the chains in a variety of ways. So there are alot of new elements that the coaches are learning too.
Head Coach Josh Corey has a clear command of his team and what he expects from them.
#1 Win the district title- Fletcher has gone deep in the playoffs the last few years without winning the district title. This is a main emphasis for Coach Corey
#2. Get over the hump- To make it to the state championship game Fletcher will have to take it to another level.
“We’ve been beneath the Apopkas ( High School), Aquinas( St. Thomas Aquinas), and First Coast made it a few years ago. We’ve got to break into that top tier” – Coach Josh Corey
Very complimentary of First Coast, Corey is excited about a big game this early in the season that can test whether his team has broken into the top tier of teams in the state.
