It was 7-0 at halftime of the Mandarin vs Lake Brantley playoff game. Indicative of a close contest between two 8A playoff teams. But in the second half Mandarin asserted its dominance over Lake Brantley to defeat them 20-0, advancing to the regional round of the playoffs.
The Mustangs dominated the Patriots over powering them on the defensive line. Lake Brantley found little running room up the middle with draws, and dives. When they attempted to get outside the Mustangs swarmed and gang tackled. It was a flawless performance on defense.

On offense the Mustangs took advantage of field position thanks to the defense forcing several turnovers. Mekhi Jackson scored in the 3rd quarter to put the Mustangs up 13-0. Jackson ran hard on the evening and was successful in the red zone.

In the end the defense ruled the day and as we know defense wins championships. Mandarin will advance to face West Orange. A team that knocked off the defending 8A Champions Apopka this weekend.
