Providence Christmas Classic: Providence to Much for Westminster

Providence kept their winning 2015 season stampeding into 2016 and toward another title on Friday evening. Head Coach Jim Martin and  his Stallions downed the Westminster Lions out of Ft. Lauterdale 87-71 to advance to the final round of the 2015 Providence Christmas tournament.

Providence was matched with intensity in the first half of the contest as the Lions kept roaring back after Providence would gallop ahead for leads. The Stallions led by only two at the half.

But Providence would come out of the second half firing and hitting from downtown increasing their lead to ten points. Zack Bryant put the exclamation point on the evening with a two hand jam late in the game as Providence won the game. Bryant led the team with 25 points. Jacorie Archie chipped in with 17 points, and Teddy Georgiadis added 16 points for the Stallions. Westminster’s Zach Scott led their team with 24 points in the losing effort.

Providence will face P.K Yonge Saturday night in the classic final.
