In a defensive battle held at Jackson High School, Kirby Smith Middle defeated Oceanway Middle 8-0. Kirby Smith controlled the clock on the ground for most of the game, including a 1 yard QB dive for a TD. Kirby also scored a safety in the game topping off a superb defensive effort. Oceanway’s offense showcased flashes of talent on offense, and a bend but don’t break defense. But Kirby’s opportunistic defense capitalized on Oceanway’s mistakes which led to the victory Wednesday night.
Next Week Oceanway takes on Dupont Middle, while Kirby Smith is scheduled for a bye week. .
