After a grueling first three games, it didnt get any easier for Raines on Saturday night. Facing a Bolles team that average almost 30 points a game, the Ranes Vikings knew it would be a tough task to play at First Coast and at Bolles in consecutive weeks. However, Head Coach Deran Wiley said it best. ” Our team showed tremendous character tonight”.

The game got off to a relative slow start. Bolles controlled the clock on the ground for most of the first half with RB #4 Christian Bermudez and company. The Bulldogs led 10-3 early in the third quarter when an explosion of offense occurred. Raines began to throw deep on the arm of QB Micah Zanders. Zanders completed several passes to his Wide outs including passes to #3 Rick Wells, and #17 Billy Gaines. But Bolles responded.  IMG_2642

At a 10-10 tie, Bolles relied on its running game and play action passing to step up the offense. #10 QB Mac Jones completed long passes to #23 Dexter Carter Jr, who seemingly did everything Friday night. He played Running Back and Wide Receiver scoring from both positions on the night as the teams traded scores into the fourth quarter.

Finally, with just over a minute left on the clock, Raines drove the ball down the field from deep in their own territory to score on a QB sneak by Zanders with just 41 seconds to play.

Coach Corky Rogers still had time to cook up one of his favorite miracles on this night as Bolles drove the ball to midfield. But with 10 second to go Jones passed deep left and was intercepted by Gaines cementing the win for the Vikings.
