Ribault’s late comeback lifts them over Northwestern

The neighborhood faithful were out to watch a defensive struggle at Northwestern field Tuesday afternoon. As the Ribault Middle School Trojans scored in the 4th quarter to defeat the Northwestern Yellow Jackets 12-8.

Northwestern lead for most of the game 8-6, as their defense kept the high flying Trojans in check for most of the contest. With a strong running game and defense, Northwestern seemed like they had the perfect formula for victory. But Ribault had one more intangible that Northwestern didn’t have this day, and that was playmakers.

Ribault’s QB is the tallest on the field, and could see the entire field of play with every drop back. Their WRs are quick and were confident in their QB that he would find them at some point in the game; And he did! It was time for the Trojans defense to step up. An opportunistic bunch, who capitalized on the mistakes by Northwestern. This proved to be the formula for winning Tuesday.

Ribault is happy they got the win going into their bye week. They’ll get a week to iron out the kinks and solidify their squad. While Northwestern must get over this loss quickly as the undefeated Panthers come to play next week.
