Bolles jumped on Rutherford early in their contest, scoring four runs in the first two innings. This has been a staple in the Bolles attack thanks to Clemente Inclan who has gone yard in back to back games. This game he hit a home run to lift Bolles to the win. Barco finished the shutout with 10 strikeouts, making for a very dangerous combination of hitting and pitching for the Bulldogs. Congratulations to Bolles on advancing to the 5A State Semifinals where they’ll face Melbourne Central Catholic High School. THe Bulldogs have run through every major team on their schedule. They will be very tough to beat at state.

Mosley-5 vs Terry Parker-1
Terry Parker couldn’t repeat history that occurred last week when they came from four behind in the 7th to defeat Ridgeview..
JJ Bleday hit a double to push his teams lead to 5-1 late in the contest. The game had been close in the beginning as Mosley clinged to a 2-1 lead throughout most of the game.

Dylan Letellier grounded out allowing the runner to make it home to score Parker’s only points of the evening. A Parker fan sitting in his truck watching the game from right field leaned over to his wife and said ” Mosley’s got some big boys”. They indeed had good size, but were very disciplined.
In the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs, Parker was able to get two runs on base trailing by 4. But Mosley’s pitcher and teammates didn’t flinch as a pop fly to right was caught by the Mosley first baseman, ending the Braves season.

Atlantic Coast-0 vs Forest-3

— Duval Sports (@DuvalSports) May 11, 2016
It was a pitcher’s duel early as both teams went back and forth on the mound. In the end it was Kirby McMullen who prevailed for the win on the mound as Forest defeated Atlantic Coast 3-0. Forest had been in the regional finals last year, so they had recent experience in this type of setting.
The game was close, but Coach Jed Yancey preached to his team ” take care of the ball, play good defense, throw strikes, do your job and eliminate the big inning”. Forest was able to accomplish each one of these tasks. They have been playing good baseball down the stretch and that’s the reason they advance to the state semifinals.

Creekside-6 vs Tate-2

Tyler Willis hit a single bringing in Ty Angevine to take the lead over Tate 3-2 in the 5th inning. THe Knights would not look back from that point. Angevine would combine with Waters on a singles to bring the lead to 6-2 as the Creekside pitching did the rest, and they will be headed to Jet Blue Stadium and the State Semifinals. They’ll face Venice in the 7A State Semifinals.
