Ft. Caroline Middle School- In middle school baseball and softball action, the Landmark Seahawks visited the Ft. Caroline Cavaliers. On the softball field, Landmark capitalized on stolen bases to score most of their points. The Lady Seahawks were spirited and energetic throughout the game which fueled their momentum throughout the contest. Ft Caroline started a little flat but their coaches Laurie Valley and Sheila Martin did a great job of encouraging the youth. They’re play began to turn around as the pitcher hit the strike zone, and the infielders started to make great catches on fly balls. A line drive shot from a Landmark batter headed straight for the pitcher. The Cavalier pitcher made a spectacular one handed catch which may have been the catch of the day. In the end however, Landmark’s batters were to much to handle for Ft. Caroline, and they were extremely well coached.

On the baseball diamond just across the field, the Seahawks led by Coaches John Pace and Richard Pacheco played a great game against Ft. Caroline. Landmark got great pitching and hitting from their players on the afternoon. They were able to get some big shots into the outfield to score many players. They were observed hustling around the bases which is a tremendous asset to a good team. Ft. Caroline played with pride, and their charismatic players brought lots of fun and personality to the game. The game was made to be fun, and the Cavaliers had lots of fun playing. It was a great encouraging effort by Coach Menefee and Coach Elizabeth Bowen. Both teams played with tremendous sportsmanship.
