The 2016 season is almost here, but football is back in full swing. A full slate of games is set this Thursday and Friday with five area contests kicking off Thursday night. The action and rundown is below.

Sandalwood vs First Coast

Sandalwood ran the ball at will against First coast Thursday night. Yet they showed that they will have a passing element to the arsenal as well.

The Saints led 14-0 at halftime, and the second half would be more of the same. The Saints scored three more touchdowns in the second half, but the official score was called at halftime as the officials announced there would be no score recorded after half time. Ashton Gonzalez tossed three touchdowns in the game, however the player of the game ran for a first down. Mr. Andrew Motley!

Clay vs Matanzas

Ribault vs Atlantic Coast

If it was Madden they would’ve had to play the entire game as Ribault led at halftime 20-0. (21-0 at halftime in madden means game over). It wasn’t a crisp performance but it was an effective performance by the Trojans.

Quarterback Marsh tossed two long touchdowns, one for 50 yards and anther for 45 yards. Chanelle caught two touchdowns as the Trojans made short work of the Stingrays.

NFEI 27-2 over Duval Charter

Defense was the name of the game in Thursday’s edition of the kickoff classics. There were three shut outs and only one team to score a lone touchdown. We will see if Friday fairs any better for the offenses with some big names to play.
