Ed White- Long gone are the days when the Lemon heads of White could match up with the maroon machine that is the Raines Vikings. Yet Coach Sullivan hopes he can revitalize a program to be able to do so soon. Friday night wasn’t soon enough as Raines defeated Ed White 31-11.

The Vikings entered week 3 after not playing a game in week 2 due to Hurricane Hermine. The two weeks off may have provided a little rust for them early as they struggled to generate points. Ed White made plays early to make it a competitive game. Xavion Allen connected with Devon Mondy for 50 yards early to send a message that they were willing and able to challenge the Vikings defense.

Raines had opportunities to score but the rust seemed to be apparent. The Vikings squandered a scoring opportunity when they fumbled on the 1 yard line. Ed White would capitalize with a 42 yard field goal by Chris Robinson to put White up 3-0. The lead would not stay for long as QB Ivory Durham IV hit George Webb for a 60 yard touchdown pass to put Raines up 7-3. To this point Webb had three receiving touchdowns in two games and is on pace to break records for receiving touchdowns at Raines.

Raines would not relinquish the lead again. Touchdowns by Brandon Marshall and Keyon Garmon put the Vikings up 19-6 comfortably.

Ed White did make a few plays toward the end of the game but it was too little too late. The only suspense in the game was Raines Quarterback Ivory Durham suffering a leg injury while attempting a field goal. Something you don’t see everyday. Jakaree Gadsden would come in for the injured Durham and lead the team to the 31-11 Victory.
