We take a look at what some of the impressive things that happened around the area Friday night.

What streaks and trends continued ? Who were some of the top passers, rushers, receivers and defenses on the night?

Streaks, Trends, Notables

  •  Before Friday, the last time Lee beat Columbia, the movie Top Gun and song ‘That’s what friends are for’ were dominating the charts-the year 1986. The 28-7 win stopped a five game losing streak to the Tigers, who had outscored the Generals 163-10 during the last three years.
  • The 26th meeting between Clay and Orange Park lived up to all the hype as Clay, which led 35-6 at one point, held on for a 35-27 win at CB Bowles Stadium. The win was the Devils seventh straight win in the series 12th out of the last 16 meetings, as the Devils maintained their lead at 15-11.
  • Despite the close proximity to each other, Ribault continues to dominate its neighboring rival Paxon after a 38-0 win at Paxon. The Trojans have won eight in a row in the series since the rivalry resumed in 1999 and have outscored the Eagles 260-27 over the last seven games, including posting shutouts the last two years.
  • Within weeks, Trinity saw its 22-game winning streak end at Cocoa and Friday saw its 22 consecutive home winning streak end with a loss to Lincoln.
  • Oak Hall dominated from the get go and ended St. Joseph area high 13 game winning streak in a 28-19 win over the Flashes.
  • Creekside dropped its 16th straight game in a 51-28 loss to Providence Friday. The Knights have dropped 22 of their last 28 games over the last four years.
  • Wolfson dropped its 18th straight game in a 44-0 loss to Ponte Vedra. The Wolfpack have dropped 41 of their last 44 games over the last four years.
  • After back-to-back 8 win seasons, Duval Charter has dropped its 13th straight game in a 56-0 loss 2 weeks ago to Clearwater Academy International.
  • Andrew Jackson dropped its 13th straight game following a 58-6 loss at home to Bolles. The Tigers have dropped 17 out of their last 20 games over the last three years.

The Heroes

  • Missing three key offensive starters, senior wide receiver Ajay Belanger stepped up huge for Clay catching four passes for 115 yards, 3 of which went for touchdowns.
  • Senior tailback Jamari Peacock ran for 238 yards and four touchdowns on 33 carries to lead Yulee to a 40-20 win over Suwannee. Peacock contributed a fifth touchdown by hitting Cole Richardson for a 14-yard completion late in the fourth quarter.
  • Willie Wright, a senior from Raines, scored on a kickoff return and hauled in a 40-yard touchdown reception to lead the Vikings to a 53-6 win over Fernandina Beach.
  • Xavion Allen, a Southern Miss commit, accounted for 272 yards and three touchdowns in a huge upset 35-30 win over host Nease. None more important than a 38-yard completion with under two minutes remaining which helped the Commanders ice the clock.

The Rushers

  • Kurtis Gavin, a senior from BK, rushed for a game high 127 yards on 7 carries and scored on runs of 66 and 29 for the Crusaders.
  • Darrell Vann of Orange Park had a solid game for the Raiders rushing for 128 yards on 16 carries in the loss to Clay.
  • Episcopal tailback Cameron Rawls rushed for 96 yards and 3 touchdowns to keep the Eagles undefeated.
  • Baldwin senior tailback Isaiah Miller rushed for four touchdowns and 177 yards on 20 carries helping the Indians pull of the big win in Hawthorne.
  • Sandalwood senior Logan Wright helped the Saints rally from a 14-2 halftime deficit in a 17-14 win over host Spruce Creek. Wright rushed for 330 yards on 51 carries and scored two touchdowns.
  • Lee senior Cam Wakefield scorched the Tigers with runs of 42 and 56 yards to help the Generals shock Columbia.

The Passers

  • Trinity senior Legend Brumbaugh was 11 of 19 for 114 yards in the loss to Lincoln.
  • Orange Park senior Demarae Byrd threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while also accounting for one score on the ground for the Raiders.
  • Episcopal senior Joseph Brunell threw for 196 yards and 1 score and ran for 65 yards and another score to keep the Eagles undefeated.
  • St. Augustine senior Cole Northrup threw for over 200 yards in the Yellow Jackets 45-0 shutout win over host Melbourne.
  • Baldwin Gavin Screws completed 12 of 20 passes for 160 yards and a touchdown to lead the Indians to victory Friday.
  • Providence junior Carter Bradley threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns in a 51-28 win over Creekside helping the Stallions get their first win of the season.
  • Nick Tronti terrorized Wolfson defense throwing for 207 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-0 win over the Wolfpack.
  • Nease Leighton Alley finished 18 of 26 for 276 yard and three touchdowns in a losing effort against White.
  • Derrick Jones threw for 177 yards and added 65 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to help the Lee Generals pull the upset over Columbia.
  • The Receivers
  • Westside wideout  Dale George  caught six passes for 133 yards including a 63-yard touchdown catch.
  • Ribault wideout Louis Dorsey stepped up catching 6 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns in the Trojans win over Paxon.
  • Providence senior Will Mallory had 10 catches for 262 yards and a pair of scores covering 58 and 67 yards for the Stallions.
  • Creekside senior Charlie Simmons hauled in a 68 yard touchdown reception as well as 70 yard kickoff return for a score in a loss to Providence.

The D

  • Kyle Cusick blocked a punt, recorded 7 tackles and had an interception for Bishop Kenny.
  • Zach Alvarado returned a fumble in midair 12 yards for a score and also recovered another fumble for Clay.
  • Yulee forced four fumbles and picked off two passes in the Hornets 40-20 win over Suwannee.
  • First Coast accounted for 8 sacks in the Bucs road win at Weeki Wachee.
  • Jacob Reeves had two sacks and blocked a punt for the Ponte Vedra Sharks defense.
  • Baker County defense accounted for just as many points at Menendez offense managed with a interception return and a 98 yard fumble return.
  • Lee tackled Columbia Davin Shuck seven times behind the line of scrimmage on runs and held the Tigers to 199 total yards in the win.
  • Baldwin defense came ready to play with 4 interceptions and 6 sacks in the big win over Hawthorne.
