Ribault High School- Javon William’s 20 yard touchdown catch turned out the lights literally as Ribault defeated First Coast on Friday evening. After the Williams touchdown, a malfunction with stadium lights sent the crowd into darkness for about 15 minutes. Ribault held a 14-0 lead at the time, so no one can blame them for the outage as did the Baltimore Ravens against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl a few years back. Coincidentally, the lights seemed to come on for First Coast after the incident as the Bucs scored their first touchdown. A Brian Anderson 28 yard touchdown reception.

It was mostly a defensive contest as both offenses struggled to move the all efficiently. Ribault’s defense has been one of the best in the city with Jaalen Ford and Jaylen Joyner on the defensive lines. But First Coast also flew around and made plays.Their defense with Shawn Wiley accounted for 8 sacks last week against Weeki Wachi.
