Join the Duval Sports Crew every Monday Night at Gator’s Dockside Baymeadows as we honor our Youth, Middle School, and High School Players of the Week! The players are treated to a free meal compliments of Gator’s and interviewed on the Duval Sports Show. Check out the Duval Sports Players of the Week for Week #4 below.
High School : Xavion Allen
School: Ed White
Xavion led Ed White to their first victory of the season and an upset win over Nease. Allen passed for nearly 300 yards and threw for 3 touchdowns, something we’ve rarely see a Ed White Quarterback accomplish. This Southern Miss commit is grounded and humble and mentioned on the show how the win was a total team effort. Xavion played youth football at Westside and Sweetwater Pop Warner parks, continuing the winning pedigree at the High School level.
Middle School:
Jacobi Myers
School : Dupont Middle
Jacobi has Dupont looking good this year. At 3-0 , his team has looked impressive against every opponent, thanks in part to Myers and his play making ability. Against Mayport, Myers scored 4 touchdowns from every angle on the field. He’s able to play quarterback, running back, or wide receiver for the Dragons. He does it all and is very versatile. Myers played youth football at Pine Forest which is a local Pop Warner park in the area. He continues to make the southside area near Emerson and University boulevard proud, as he continue his play for Dupont Middle. Jacobi knows that grades are extremely important as he is an honor roll student in school. He also relies on the intricate advice of his uncle, former Sandalwood Runningback and 1995 Florida Mr Football Award recipient Frankie Franklin. If relationship is any indication of success, look for Myer’s name on the next level in High School.
Youth Football:
Javon Nobles
Youth Park: Normandy Junior Pee Wee
” Javon is just one of those kids who has that it factor”. These are the words of offensive coordinator Trent Postell who coaches Nobles on the Normandy Cowboys. Javon plays runningback and also plays linebacker, two positions hes always played since he started on tinymite at the park. He’s one of those players that the entire park knows his name and his opponents look for him each year when they face the cowboys. He plays aggressive on the field but you’d never know that by looking at his smile. He’s a great young man, down to earth and extremely grateful for the opportunity to play the game he loves.
Noble’s effort in the game has his team on a winning streak. He rushed for 120 yds, 2 tds , 1 int, 5 tackles, and 1 tackle for loss. He is clearly a total team player and will do anything for the team. This is the type of selfless attitude that has him our Duval Sports Players of the Week!
Congratulations to Xavion Allen, Jacobi Myers and Javon Nobles for being named the Duval Sports Players of the week for Week # 4
