With three weeks still left in the season, the race for the Northeast Florida Athletic Conference title has already been decided.
Oakleaf (4-1) and Lake Asbury (5-0) are clearly the two best teams in the conference and will meet up twice in the last three weeks of the season to decide the title.
The conference, which is comprised of junior high teams from all over Clay County and Bradford County, is broken up into two divisions North and South with four teams in each division.
The two division winners meet in the title game, while the runner-ups in the division play for third, the third place teams in each division play for fifth and the fourth place teams in each division play for seventh.
With a division title and spot in the conference championship game on the line, quarterback Tre Simmons delivered leading Oakleaf to a 18-0 win over divisional rival and host Green Cove Tuesday night to help the Yellow Jackets wrap up the North Division title.
Simmons ran for a touchdown and threw for a touchdown to help the Jackets get the big win.
The Jackets (4-1, 3-0) ran through the division with wins over Green Cove 18-0, Lakeside 26-20 and Orange Park 28-20 in overtime.
Oakleaf opened the season with a 27-0 loss August 30 to Baker County. but have rebounded nicely with four straight wins including a non division 28-0 win over Wilkinson.
With the loss to Oakleaf, Green Cove (2-3) finished second in the division, while the Lakeside-Orange Park winner which played Tuesday finished third and the loser finished fourth.
Lake Asbury (5-0, 3-0) had little trouble clinching the South Division with easy wins over Wilkinson 29-0, Bradford 14-0 and Keystone.
Outside of the division, the Tigers manhandled Orange Park 35-15 and Green Cove 16-0 to remain undefeated so far.
The Tigers wrapped up the South Division with a 14-0 win over Bradford two weeks ago, in which they led only 7-0 at the half before putting it away early in the fourth quarter.
