SOUTHSIDE-Despite having multiple touchdowns called back, University Christian did what it needed to do Monday night to wrap up a playoff spot with a 61-0 win over Eagle’s View.
From the opening play, the Christians controlled all lines of scrimmage and set the tone early with big play after big play to get the easy win.

After the captains shook hands, that was about as close as it was going to get for both teams.
Kelvin Perry scooped up a Warriors fumble on the games first play from scrimmage and returned it for a touchdown giving the Christians a 7-0 lead seconds into the game.
After forcing a quick three and out on the Warriors second possession, the Christians again struck quickly on their next possession.
Quarterback Clayton Boyd scrambled 20 yards on the fourth play of the drive putting the Christians up 13-0 just minutes into the game.
From there it only got worse as the Christians had multiple touchdowns called back due to penalties and yet still jumped out to a 19-0 first quarter lead.

From there the route was on as the eight-time state champions Christians scored on every drive to put the game away and clinch another playoff berth.
The Christians (4-2, 2-0) look well on their way to defending their Class 2A state title with playmakers Alex Wilcox, Andrew Wilcox, DJ Stubbs, Otis Anderson, Clayton Boyd, Leon Huey, Titus Curry and TJ Ciresi.

With a 47-0 lead, a running clock was called making the second a quick half for those at the game especially on the Eagle’s View sideline
However despite the lopsided score, the Warriors came out of the locker room and caught the Christians off guard recovering a onside kick which helped them get in the red zone.

But the Christians defense led by the Wilcox twins, Stubbs, James Sasser, Huey and Mike Oakley buckled up and denied the Warriors from scoring keeping the shut out in tact.
Huey blocked the Warriors field goal and Dyrell Stubbs picked up the loose ball and returned it 85 yards for a score putting the Christians ahead 54-0 in the third quarter.
