Week 4 Middle School Poll

While Gilbert was off last week, other middle school teams took to the field and showcased their talents.

Ribault remained undefeated with a tough 14-0 win over YMLA; while Lake Shore, Arlington and Fletcher all posted big wins as well.

Here is the new poll, followed by this weeks schedule. Hurricane Matthew moved nearly all of the games normally scheduled for today to Wednesday.

Week 4 Poll

Name, Record, Total Points, Last Week

1. Gilbert (3-0) 30, 1

Why: Gilbert took the week off but stayed unanimously at No. 1 for the fourth straight week. Through three games, the Panthers have outscored their opponents 120-0.

2. Lake Shore (4-0) 25, 3

Why: All the Warriors keep doing is winning and shutting out teams, through four games the Warriors have posted three shut out surrendering their first points of the season in a 26-6 win over JW Johnson last week.

3. Arlington (4-0) 22, 7

Why: The consensus among poll voters was yeah the Vikings were undefeated but are they really that good. Arlington responded by dominating a good Mayport team 28-6 to earn their fourth straight win. The win was good enough to move the Vikings up four spots.

4. Ribault (4-0) 20, 2

Why: Yes the Colts are still undefeated but the committee wasn’t all that impressed with its 14-0 win over YMLA (Butler) last week. Ribault dropped two spots despite winning its fourth straight game.

5. Fletcher (3-1) 18, 6

Why: Slowly but surely the Senators keep climbing back up the polls, up one spot after a dominating 32-0 win over Kernan. Don’t sleep on the defending city champs Senators, who have won three in a row since the opening loss to Gilbert.

6. Dupont (4-0) 16, 4

Why: The Cinderella story of the year so far keeps winning and continually proving people wrong. The Dragons easily handed Southside 26-0 to remain tied for first place in the South Division.

7. Twin Lakes (4-0) 15, 5

Why: The Timberwolves struggled with a good Landon team winning 12-6 to remain tied with Dupont for first in the Southern Division. The struggle may have been the reason for the drop two spots this week.

8. Kirby Smith (3-1) 10, 8

Why: After a tough overtime loss the previous week to Ribault, the Comets responded by pounding Oceanway 36-0 to remain a game behind both Gilbert and Ribault.

9. Jeff Davis (3-1) 6, 9

Why: The Chargers survived a thrilling 8-6 win over Stilwell last week to remain one game behind Lake Shore in the Western Division.

10. YMLA (2-1) 3, 10

Why: The school formerly known as Butler, dropped their first game of the season in a 14-0 los to Ribault. The Falcons remain a game behind Gilbert and Ribault in the North Division.
