Heading into an open week, Gamble Rogers chose to keep its all of its momentum going by scheduling University Christian in a non conference game.
The result was a surprising 39-26 win for the visiting Stingrays, in what is believed to be the first St. Johns County middle school win over a Duval County middle school program.
The win should give the Stingrays (6-1) plenty of confidence going into the playoffs, which begin Oct 25-26 at various sites around the county.
