Creeks and Sweetwater Advance in First Round of Playoffs

This week kicked off the playoffs for Greater Jacksonville Pop Warner with various teams in each division battling for the coveted city championship. The first two games featured the Creeks Outlaws Black versus the Lake Shore Raiders, and Sweetwater versus Normandy Silver Cowboys.

Creeks vs Lake Shore

Creeks came into the game 6-0 on the season. This remarkable team has only given up 7 points all year. Their defense is one of the best in the city and their offense knows how to play ball control.

Lake Shore knew they had a tough test against Creeks. At 2-5, the White Raiders were looking to get hot late in the season to make it a game with Creeks. They actually did the opposite as they suffered two consecutive losses headed into the playoffs.

Sweetwater vs Normandy

Sweetwater came into the game 6-1 on the season and Normandy 5-2. Both teams navigated their seasons well placing at the top of their divisions. Normandy faced Sweetwater in the season finale losing on the last game of the season 12-6. They would have a chance to avenge the loss in the first round of the playoffs.

With the wins, Creeks and Sweetwater will face each other again, but this time for the championship. Creeks defeated Sweetwater in week 2 of the regular season 7-0.
