Put up or shut up this week in district play

With just one week left in district play, the playoff picture has become a lot clearer in most districts; while a few districts are still to be decided this week.

With the Florida-Georgia game in town this week, like usual all games including Gateway Conference teams will be played on Thursday this week.

Here is a run down of each district who has clinched a playoff spot and who has to do what to clinch a playoff spot.

District 6-1A

Champion: Fort White (6-2, 3-0)

Runner-up: TBD

Outlook: Union County (4-4, 2-1) at Baldwin (5-2, 2-1) play Thursday to decide the runner-up berth.

District 2-2A

Champion: University Christian (5-2, 3-0)

Runner-up: TBD

Outlook: Harvest (3-5, 1-1) at Cedar Creek (1-6, 1-1) meet Friday to decide the runner-up spot.

District 2-3A

Champion: TBD

Runner-up: TBD

Outlook: Both teams are already in the playoffs when Trinity Christian (5-3, 1-0) travels to Episcopal (8-0, 1-0) Friday in a winner take all game for the district title, the loser will be the runner-up.

District 2-4A

Runner-up: TBD

Outlook: Raines (6-0, 2-0) travels to Bolles (7-0, 2-0) to decide the district title, the loser is the runner-up

District 3-4A

Interlachen (4-3, 2-1) at Bradford (5-1, 3-0)

Santa Fe (3-4, 2-1) at Keystone Heights (2-5, 1-2)

Scenarios

A. Bradford and Santa Fe both win, Bradford wins the district and Santa Fe is the runner-up.

B. Bradford and Keystone both win, Bradford wins the district and Keystone, Santa Fe and Interlachen will play in a three-way tiebreaker at Interlachen to decide runner-up berth.

C. Interlachen and Santa Fe win, a three-way tiebreaker between Bradford, Santa Fe and Interlachen would be played at Bradford to decided the district title and runner-up berth.

D. Interlachen and Keystone win, Interlachen wins the district title and Bradford would be the runner-up.

District 3-5A
