Walton would put two touchdowns on the board on the night. The first being a 2nd quarter touchdown run by Kentrell Parker. Parker would sprint right on a sweep and turn it up to dive into the end zone. It was a good effort by the speedster who dove into several Raines defenders. Unfortunately for his team, that’s as good as it would get on the evening for them as Walton was severely over-matched. Raines came into the game 6-2 on the season with consecutive losses to rivals Bolles and Ribault. So they clearly had something to prove heading into the playoffs, and they played like it. Walton (3-7) were the beneficiaries of a weak district. Their three wins on the season were all courtesy of district games, and even though they were the district winners, they presumably had no clue what was headed down I-10 Thursday night to play them in the first round of the playoffs.

Raquil Bacon would close out the scoring for Raines as they defeated Walton 52-14. Raines will now await the winner of the Bolles and East Gadsden matchup Friday night, potentially setting up a Bolles versus Raines rematch in the second round of the FHSAA State Playoffs.
