Ribault High School- The Ribualt Trojans pulled out a 14-13 win over the Bishop Kenny Crusaders on Friday night in a nail-biter. The game started with BK driving for a FG on their 1st possession but that was it for scoring in the 1st half for both teams. BK had an opportunity to score once again in the 1st half off an interception by #8 Kyle Cusick, but the Crusaders drove the ball to the Trojan one yard but could not punch it in.

The Trojan defense stood tall and forced a turnover on downs denying BK a touchdown. Ribualt gained an interception by #25 Devon Matthews who returned it for a touchdown, but it was called back due a block in the back. Both teams had numerous penalties in the 1st half, and Ribualt dropped at least four sure interceptions. With both teams playing good defense the first half ended with BK leading Ribualt 3-0.

Both teams went in and made adjustments at halftime to stretch the field and came out ready for an exciting second half. Ribualt started the third quarter by forcing a three and out by BK. On Ribualts first possession of the third quarter #22 Javon Williams took a handoff 23 yards in for a touchdown, giving Ribualt a 7-3 lead with 8:04 left in the quarter. BK came right back with 30 yard pass to #81 Aaron Fudge for a touchdown giving BK a 10-7 lead over Ribualt.

Ribualt really began to move the ball on the ground behind the running of QB Jhammal Marsh to start the fourth quarter. He was able to keep two drives alive by scrambling for first downs and even a TD to give Ribualt a 14-10 lead in the fourth quarter. Bishop Kenny was able to move ball down the field with a 30 yard pass to # 2 Marquez Wells but the Trojan defense stood tall again holding BK to only a FG. With 7:36 left in the 4th quarter Ribualt led Bishop Keeny 14-13. BK had one last opportunity to win the game late in the 4th quarter but a fumble recovered by Ribualt sealed the win for the Trojans.

Ribualts win sets up a rematch of last years second playoff game with Ponte Vedra in Ponte Vedra. Last year Ribualt stunned everyone with their win over Ponte Vedra to move on the 3rd round of the playoffs. Ponte Vedra is currently undefeated and ready for the rematch. Ribualt will be bringing hard nose, smash mouth football to the game and you can bet Coach Kelvin Smith will have his team ready to play.

Kickoff is at 7:30 Friday November 18th in Ponte Vedra.
