State power No. 1 ranked Madison County and host No. 7 Fort White meet Friday with a spot in the Class 1A state semi-finals on the line.
The Cowboys have traditionally been one of the best teams in the state regardless of classification winning two state titles (2001, 2007) along with five state runner-up finishes.
They are overwhelming favorites to get back to the state finals but to get there they first have to get through Fort White.
The two have a short but brief history together and met in this same round last year, all bets are off on this one.
Madison County Cowboys (10-0) at Fort White Indians (9-2)
Where: Arrowhead Stadium
When: 7:30 p.m.
What: Region 3-1A final (Second Round)
Last meeting: Madison won 28-19 second round last year

Outlook: This is the fourth time, Fort White has made it this far, the bad news is they are 0-3 so far, with two of those losses coming at the hands of Madison County, including a 28-19 loss last season. Madison is 2-0 all-time in the playoffs against Fort White and an overwhelming favorite to not only win this game but win the Class 1A state title. The two have two teams in common they both have played in Baldwin and Hamilton with both going 2-0 against both of them. Both of these teams are mirror images of each other and well balanced as well. It’s so cliche to say but this really could come down to turnovers.
Who is next: Winner would travel to the Trenton-Pahokee winner in the state semi-finals next Friday.
So what do the fans think about this game ?
