Elise Bush vs Jim Reape

Elise Bush

Elise Bush (Bolles)

Bush gained a major upset over Mike Pickett in round one. Her prestige and prominence impressed the voters over state titles. Bush’s career records as the Bolles’ volleyball coach are as follows:

  • State title in 1989

Jim Reape 4

Jim Reape (Clay)

Reape reaped the the rewards of being the only wrestling coach in the bracket. His ability to coach different wrestlers in different weight classes in different eras is truly remarkable.

  • 18 consecutive district titles,
  • 16 regional championships,
  • 6 state runner-up finishes (1999, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017)

Frank Pontore vs David Silverburg

Frank Pontore

Frank Pontore (OP/FI)

Coach Pontore took two schools to the state championships and won in his coaching career. A truly remarkable feat. The fans agreed by the slimmest of margins that he should advance to round 2!

the Dave Silverburg

David Silverburg is a fan favorite and sure to give Pontore a run for his money. Silverburg’s convincing win in the first round was not a school victory, as both coaches coached for Ponte Vedra at some point in their careers. No, it was his Michael Jordan-esque stat that wowed voters. 6 Championships!
