Gibbs Park- It was a 33-0 opening debut for the Sweetwater Ravens over the Forestview Wolverines in week one Pop Warner Junior Pee Wee action. Sweetwater dominated from start to finish thanks in part to the talented young athletes that the team features. #4 Rashid Miller busted off big runs to start the game. His efforts set up the game’s first touchdown, a toss by #1 D. Moore to #10 Troy Hillman where Hillman showed great concentration to bring in the juggling pigskin. Next it would be #20 big Hilton Stubbs getting in on the scoring act, rumbling off a long powerful run to put Sweetwater up 12-0.

Not to be outdone, Troy Hillman scored again this time on the ground with a long touchdown run to increase Sweetwater’s lead to 19-0. Finally, the player of the game amongst many great players was #3 Vedarius Thomas. Thomas scored on an end around for 40 yards right before halftime. But his 7 solo tackles on defense is what preserved the shutout. It was an all around team effort in week one that has Sweetwater looking for another title run in the weeks to come.
