After a week of turmoil and devastation, Clay County school officials made the difficult decision to reopen schools and allow all after school activities to be resumed; meaning Week 4 of the junior high football season will go on as planned.
While Week 3 was cancelled days after Irma ransacked the First Coast area forcing schools to close and open as shelters; many doubted Week 4 would go on as well. Nearby counties Duval and St. Johns made the decision to cancel games next week, the second straight week for Duval.
Week 3 was moved to October 17, which what was suppose to be the championship series week, which has now been moved back a week to October 24.
