It’s been a long road back to this place of familiarity for Trinity Christian and Bolles this year. A place where only the elite teams of Florida dwell, the State Finals. On Saturday December 6th, The Bolles Bulldogs will face Booker T. Washington in the Class 4A title game. While the Trinity Christian Conquerors will take on American Heritage in the Class 3A State Championship Game.
Trinity
From the beginning of the season, the Conquerors charted their course for this pace. No doubt there were some detours along the way. At the beginning in Buford Georgia with a 17-0 loss , or mid season in Bradenton FL with a loss to IMG , the road this year was significantly harder than last. But Coach Verlon Dorminy kept his team close and focused all season, something that’s hard to do when attempting to repeat as champions ( just ask FSU).They’re led by a talented group of play makers on both sides of the ball that simply refuse to let their team lose. LB Jeffery Holland, and DB’s Tyreke Johnson and Kevin Tolliver have anchored a defense that capitalizes on the big play. Just ask Lakeland Christian last week as Tolliver and Johnson both had two interceptions. Before defeating Lakeland Christian 42-28, they faced Trinity Catholic out of Ocala who were equipped with several D-1 commits themselves. But the Conquerors pulled away in the second half to win 20-10. Maclay, their first round opponent, stood little chance as well losing 44-13 .
But now the Conquerors must face their biggest test in American Heritage. A team standing at 11-1, and winners of eleven straight. In order for Trinity to win on Saturday they must force turnovers like they’ve done all year. And keep up with the high powered Stallions offense. Trinity comes into the contest scoring just over thirty four points a game, while American is scoring just over forty one points a game. Trinity will look to repeat the outcome of their match up versus American Heritage in 2010.

Bolles
A familiar foe welcomes Bolles to their State Championship game this weekend as the Bulldogs take on Booker T. Washington. These two programs have face each other the last three years in the State Finals with Bolles winning in 2011, and Booker T winning in 2012 & 2013. The Tornadoes come into the contest undefeated at 13-0 scoring 38 points per game. But Bolles knows how to mach up with any team in the state. They come into the contest scoring 38 points per game as well. And they done that with the disciplined ground attack and play action game.
Led by Dexter Carter Jr. and Christian Bermudez , the Bolles has the play making ability along with the disciple to drive opposing defenses crazy. Its a testament to Coaching legend Coach Corky Rogers and his staff at keeping the focus ahead o the next play. Versus Raines two weeks ago, the Bulldogs were observed taking their halftime break outside instead of the field house. The team was up at halftime but were so quiet you would’ve thought they were down by 50 points. Undoubtedly this led to their victory against the Vikings 20-13. The week prior they absolutely destroyed Umatilla 63-0. And last week they traveled to Madison County and downed the Cowboys 34-15. There’s a formula for winning at The Bolles School and each player buys into it. If they can control the clock and play sound defense as they have all year, they can bring home their twelfth State Title.
Game Time : 7 pm Orlando Florida, Citrus Bowl
* Side Note* American Heritage Plantation defeated Bolles in the 2014 regular season 35-20. We won’t see Trinity vs Bolles, but Trinity will look to prove they can defeat the team that defeated the team that Bolles could not.
