Trinity Christian Academy- For most of the 48 minutes of the Trinity Christian –Ponte Vedra game, the defenses kept each offense in check. The exciting and explosive offensive action showed up in spurts in the first half as neither team could move the ball with much success.
The Conquerors went three and out in their first drive and the Sharks didn’t fair much better, making only one first down in their first possession. On the next drive, Trinity Christian moved the ball with running back Kyjuan Herndon handling most of the work, as his 17 yards accounted for much of the yard. On a fourth down, a Clayton Roering 42 yard field goal attempt fell short, ending the first quarter 0-0.
At the start of the second quarter, Ponte Vedra could not move the ball and was force to punt. On their third possession, the Conquerors use a balance offensive effort, assisted by a penalty, before have a first and goal at the Sharks nine yard line. On a second down and three yards, Marcus Crowley found a hole and scored from the two yard line. The Roering PAT was good, and Trinity Christian took a 7-0 with only 6:52 left in the first half. The remainder of the half was uneventful as both teams went to the locker room.

Opening the third quarter, the Shark’s Jarrett Stepp returned the kickoff 35 yards and with a person foul penalty, Ponte Vedra was in business at the 33 yard line. After getting a first down at the Trinity Christian 20 yard line, the Conquerors defense stiffen. With a fourth down and one at the 11 yard line, Ponte Vedra opted to for a Riley Robbins 28 yard field goal, and made it a 7-3 game.
On the ensuing kickoff, Ponte Vedra recovered the fumbled ball, and at their 37 yard line and were looking to score on this drive, However, three plays later, a Conqueror intercepted a Jack Murrah pass. From the Ponte Vedra 42 yard line, the Conquerors moved the ball with six straight runs, which put them at the 26 yard line. From that point, quarterback Austin Thomas (4-6, 64 yards, 2 TD;s) hit Tyreke Johnson on a run and catch for the score, giving the Conquerors a 14-3 advantage. That momentum change seemed to have deflated the Sharks for the remainder of the game, as they seemed content attacking the interior defensive line of Trinity Christian, and with little success, could not move the ball.

The final score for Trinity Christian came on another Thomas pass, this time hitting Isaiah Washington for a 35 yard strike. The Conquerors compiled 258 yards of total offense, while the Sharks were only able to manage about 70 yards of offense. Neither team seemed to have much energy on the night, and played with littler emotion on the field.
