Creeks Gold Outlaws On Their Way To Disney!!!

Congratulations to the Creeks Gold Outlaws football team on winning the DII Junior Pee Wee Southeast Pop Warner Regional Championship! The Outlaws, who are based out of Fruit Cove and Julington Creek area just south of Jacksonville Florida, are undefeated on the season and have the chance to play for the Pop Warner National Championship. The Super Bowl of youth football.

Creeks successfully won the Greater Jacksonville Pop Warner City Championship defeating Oceanway. The Outlaws then navigated the grueling Southeast Regional playoffs defeating Ponte Vedra 35-0 in round one, then the Titletown Titans 36-21 in round two, and this weekend they defeated Pompano Beach 16-8 to be crowned Southeast Regional Champions.

As regional champions, Creeks will enter the national tournament held at the Disney Wide World of Sports in Orlando Florida, for the chance to win a national championship. Head Coach Steve Owens knows it’s going to be a tough road at Nationals but believes his team is as tough as they come “our mind set is always the same when we go into a game. “We want to come out on to the field, we want to take their will, crush their heart and send them home”. It’s this type of mind set that has the outlaws rolling over teams this year. They achieved six shutouts in a row, including a playoff shutout of Ponte Vedra which has them striking fear in their opponents. They are able to run the ball effectively even when teams know what they are going to do. Their offensive line routinely pushes the pile to open up running lanes for the running backs. They have the perfect formula for playoff success, so look for the Outlaws to run wild in Orlando.

Last year the Sweetwater Hawks Pee Wee team won the 2015 national championship. The Creeks Gold Outlaws are the third team from the Creeks Athletic Association to make it to Disney to compete for a national championship. In 2013 the Creeks Outlaws won the Pop Warner National Championship.

In 2014, Creeks sent a junior pee wee D2 team to Disney but fell just short of a national title. The 2017 Creeks Gold Outlaws look to bring another title back to Duval!
