Girls High School Basketball District Recap and Playoff Preview/Score Updates

 8A-3 District Champion

First Coast (18-7)

History was made at First Coast when the Lady Buccaneers defeated Lee 43-36 to capture their first Girls Basketball District Championship in School History! Head Coach Kenny Kallina knows talent when he sees it, and he is not one to mince words when it comes to his thoughts of who the best player in the area is. His very own Moriah Steele.

Steele has led the Lady Bucs with 18.4 ppg and achieved an historic feat of her own by scoring her 1,000th career point in school history. She achieved this by also maintaining her distinction as a National Honor Society student. Steele is not the only prime time player on the team. Alexus Bryant leads in rebounding with 13.0 rpg and is second in scoring with 14.7 ppg. She is a force in the middle with her height and is one of the main reasons First Coast is moving on. They’ll face Fleming Island in the first round of the playoffs.

Score: Fleming Island -69 First Coast -32
