We are nearing the end of the regular season for high school softball as teams make their final push for making the postseason and begin working on the playoffs. Who are the top teams in the area and who is likely heading to the Final Four in Vero Beach ? These are questions we will answer over the next few weeks.
Week 2 Rankings
1 Bartram Trail (13-1)
Outlook: While a district game against First Coast was rained out, the Bears pushed past Sandalwood in a 5-1 win to remain at the top still.
3 Providence (12-1)
Outlook: An easy week for the Stallions who knocked off Atlantic Coast 3-0 in their only game of the week.
4 West Nassau (12-4)
Outlook: Two more road wins for the Warriors after a 5-0 win over Trinity and 7-0 win over Hilliard in the week.
5 Columbia (14-3)
Outlook: Five wins in a row now for the Tigers, including a pair of wins this week over a solid Trenton team 5-1 and district rival Middleburg 2-0.
6 Mandarin (15-3)
Outlook: Mustangs rebound nicely from tough 1-0 championship loss in Spring Break tourney with a pair of wins this week including a 12-2 win over Palm Coast and 4-0 win over First Coast.
7 Keystone Heights (13-4)
Outlook: Went 1-1 on the week dropping a 11-2 decision to defending 1A state champion Union County while pounding Fort White 13-5 two days later.
8 Ridgeview (11-4)
Outlook: After a stunning 7-3 loss to Clay to start the week, the Panthers rebounded with a 3-2 win over Middleburg and 12-0 win over Orange Park.
9 Trinity (12-6)
Outlook: A scheduled game against 1A state champion Union County was rained out and then West Nassau dropped a thunderstorm on them with a 5-0 loss at home.
10 Baker County (11-5)
Outlook: Went 1-1 on the week, dropped a tough 1-0 loss to Hilliard, then dispatched Yulee 8-1.
