Youth Football Team Scores 80 Points in Game!!

Jacksonville FL- Football never sleeps in Florida, and in Northeast Florida it seemingly never blinks. That’s because youth football has both fall and spring leagues for kids to participate in. One league that’s already underway is the ESYFL which boasts some of the best parks in the area. Westside, North Florida, and Arlington are all some of the parks that have undefeated teams two weeks into their seasons. Yet one particular undefeated park grabbed headlines this week in youth football, after the final buzzer sounded to end their game. The M.O.T Cowboys defeated their opponent the Argyle Spartans 80-0 in their week two spring 8 on 8 junior pee wee division football game. That’s right….. 80 points!

M.O.T, which stands for Mentors of Tomorrow, scored right away when #1 Jordan Martin Durham hit #2 Rajohn White on a beautiful long pass play to open the contest with a bang. Play makers #9 Ocean Swanson, #5 Kenyon Gardner and Jamari Jennings ( A.K.A Grown Man) took over the rest of the way, putting up 10 scores on the day! What’s ironic about this team is that their quarterback happens to be the little brother of the reigning Class 4A FHSAA Player of the Year Ivory Durham IV, who led Raines High School to a state championship this past fall. Head Coach Ivory Durham Jr said of his quarterback and son Jordan, “Me and HJ (Durham IV) both have been training him and working him out, so I’m excited about him and the entire group of  kids we have”.

In comparison, the largest margin of victory last weekend in spring football besides the Cowboys over the Spartans was the Westside Wildcats 48-0 win over the Atlantic Stingrays. Incredibly, M.O.T almost doubled that score with their 80 point effort. With wins like this, we could be seeing the future of High School Football before our very eyes, as many of these players move on to play prep football in the coming years.
