Middle School Track & Field: Athletes Mop Up Competition; While Landon Sweeps Track Meet

Landon H.S- Individual athletes shined in the first Duval County Middle School Track Meet of the year. Darnell Cookman, Dupont and host Landon competed in several events, in which the Landon Boys and Girls Track Teams impressed Wednesday afternoon with convincing victories. Christian Ellis stole the show for Dupont winning the 100 meters, 400 meters, and anchoring the four by one team for their victory. Darnell Cookman’s Walteria Phelps represented for her squad well winning the long jump. For Landon, Jack Damon started the day off right winning the long jump. He would add a win in the 200M as well for the boys . For the Landon Girls, Parkland Gardner shined in the high jump and 400 meters. Also Giselle Young put them over the top with fine performances in the mile run and 800 meters, culminating an evening of great performances from every team.
