DISNEY WORLD – The Clay Police Athletic League Blue Devils Pee Wee team capped an amazing 2017 season with a Division III Pop Warner Super Bowl title back in December at the Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney.
The Blue Devils went 2-0 in the tournament, defeating the Cleveland Rams (NC) 40-12 and then the Los Gatos Cambrian Panthers (CA) 39-0 to win the trophy and their first ever national title.
The Blue Devils were as dominant a team as they come on both sides of the ball. Their defense didn’t yield a single point during the playoffs and their offense averaged 38.5 points per game in the Super Bowl tournament.
Clay went undefeated in the regular season at 9-0 capping the regular season by winning the First Coast Conference title.
The First Coast Conference consists of Callahan, Fernandina Beach, Fleming Island, Jax Beach, Middleburg, Oakleaf, Orange Park, Ponte Vedra, St. Augustine and Yulee.
Winning the conference title put them in the playoffs where they won the Southeast Regional, which featured teams from Florida, Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi.
The Devils handled Valrico Rams (FL) 40-14 to win the Southeast title and qualify for the Super Bowl.
