When polling coaches in Clay county about the Top 50 list, there was one name that was mentioned by them all… . “Q. Ray ” ! With size and speed, Ray was unstoppable at QB for Lake Asbury
His Most Memorable Play: The second game versus Oakleaf, Ray busted a 60 yard touchdown run.

2. Ryan Lester DE- Green Cove
A freak of nature is how one coach describes him. The strongest young man in the off-season workouts. At 6’5, Ryan Lester is a name you’ll here more and more as the years come. The D-End was a key part to the Green Cove defense this year.
His Most Memorable Play: He forced defensive turnovers and sacks vs Oakleaf, Lake Asbury, and Middleburg.

3. Donovan Shannon -RB Oakleaf
The offensive MVP for Oakleaf Junior High , Donovan Shannon was a reliable and dependable play maker for the Jackets at running back. Shannon was admired by his coach for never quitting, never giving up and always running hard.
His Most Memorable Play: Shannon had a three touchdown game vs Lakeside. His signature performance this year.

4. Eric Weatherly- ATH Liberty Pines
Quarterback, running-back, return man, he was a one man gang for Liberty Pines Middle School. It took entire defenses to stop Eric Weatherly, and even then, some of them came up short. This incredible athlete can also play defense, showcasing skills at DB.
His Most Memorable Play: ” Against Valley Ridge I juked the defender out of his cleats and scored a touchdown”
5. Aaron Wynn- RB- – Gamble Rogers
Arguably the most explosive runningback in the entire area, Aaron Wynn looked like a man amongst boys in his games sometimes. He’s able to go zero to a hundred real quick! And to think, it was only his first year playing football.
His Most Memorable Play: Scoring 4 TDs in 30 seconds in the 2017 spring game. His first tackle football game ever!

6. King Benford- QB – Gamble Rogers
The leader of the St. Johns County Champion Gamble Rogers Stingrays was none other than the King. King Benford made plays both on the ground and in the air, guiding his team to victory. We were all witnesses to his spectacular plays all season.
His Most Memorable Play: King had a game deciding touchdown run in the championship game versus Swiss Point!

7. Dominic Fields- RB Swiss Point
Dominating performances by Dominic Fields led Swiss Point to another championship appearance. Fields caught passes and ran for touchdowns, always coming through for his team. It was a “Field of dreams” for Dominic. One of the area’s top athletes.
His Most Memorable Play: Dominic scored three touchdowns in Swiss Point’s playoff game versus Fruit Cove.

8. Vince Apprabato -LB Fruit Cove
Charismatic and courageous, this linebacker and tight end from Fruit Cove brought life to a Flyer Team that achieved great success thanks to his leadership and play making ability. Every play to be made on defense, Apprabatto made it.
His Most Memorable Play: Vince caught a big TD pass across the middle against Swiss Point where he took a vicious hit but got up on his own power.

9. Kylon Washington- RB Mandarin
Washington stood out for Mandarin, not just because of his height, but because of his playmaking ability. As the season went longer, he got stronger. He was Mandarin’s bell cow at runningback.
His Most Memorable Play: Kylon’s long touchdown run versus Landmark gave his team their biggest win on the season.

10. Milton Bailey ATH- Cedar Creek
The defensive MVP for Cedar Creek led the Saints in tackles and interceptions. Bailey is described as the consummate leader, a player coaches called upon to be a coach on the field. He loves the game of football and plays with true passion for the sport.
His Most Memorable Play: Milton broke about six tackles on one play and scored on a kickoff return”
