Trinity Sets Bolles a Blaze in Second Half Inferno

Southside-Trinity Christian declared a 41-13 victory against Bolles on Friday night. Running back Marcus Crowley led the Conquerors with 181 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. Wide receiver Isaiah Washington also led Trinity in receiving with 5 catches for 129 yards. Quarterback  Jacory Jordan led Trinity in passing with 14 completions on 22 attempts for 278 yards.

The seats were filled to capacity on both sides of The George H. Hodges Field at The Skinner-Barco Stadium. The Trinity and Bolles crowds would both erupt in loud cheer to stake their claims upon a victory at the annual rivalry. The Conquerors marched onto the field like well-disciplined soldiers prepared for the battle of the century. The Bulldogs would later tread onto the field, loud, rowdy and vigorously expectant to defeat a long term foe. Trinity’s Jacory Jordan struck a hard blow to Bolles’s defense when he threw a 20 yard pass to Malik Jordan who took it 79 yards for a touchdown.  The Trinity crowd waved in excitement as the score instantaneously updated to 7-0. The first quarter would end with Trinity leading Bolles 7-0.

The second quarter began with Trinity leading Bolles by 7. Bolles’s Ben Netting would launch a 7 yard pass landing the ball into the hands of Chris Sanders like rain drops allowing Sanders to camper down the field for a 70 yard touchdown. Bolles tied the score 7-7. Penalties would plague the Conquerors throughout the second quarter ending the first half of the game 7-7, with an antsy crowd eager to expediently speed through the halftime festivities.

Trinity’s Jacory Jordan would set the third quarter a blaze when he threw a pass to Isaiah Washington for an 80 yard touchdown. Trinity took over with a 13-7 lead over Bolles. Turning up the heat, Marcus Crowley would trample over Bolles defense to score a third touchdown for Trinity. Bolles would continue to trail behind Trinity 20-7. Attempting to stomp out Trinity’s fire, Bolles’s Ben Netting would connect with Sanders again for a second touchdown bringing the score to  20-13 ending the fervent third quarter.

Who’s bad, who’s mad and who would be sad after the fourth quarter rolled into action? That was a question that Trinity’s Kaleb Killian had an answer for. Killian gave the Conqueror fans exactly what they wanted with a touchdown run in the beginning of the fourth. The score lit to 27-13. With both hope and fear acquainted,the Bolles sideline gasped in unison, as Trinity’s Marcus Crowley beau-guarded through Bolles’s weakened defense to score another touchdown. Within the blink of an eye the score exploded to 34-13 as the Conquerors continued to burn up the second half. Trinity’s C. J. Lockett executed the final spark, when he intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown.

When the smoke cleared, the flames of Trinity’s victory smoldered the field like the remnant of hot larva. Trinity declared a 41-13  victory over Bolles this time, yet the two historic programs will almost certainly meet again. Trading the heat from a September contest, for the chill of a November playoff match.

Trinity improves to (4-0) on the season, while Bolles falls to (2-2). Trinity visits Palm Beach Lakes this week, while Bolles looks to rebound against Westside.
