Ponte Vedra- Ben Houser led all scorers with 13 points, including a game winning 3-point buzzer beater to lift the Sharks to a 47-46 win over Bartram Trail, for their first win of the 2018 season.
Ponte Vedra capped off a 20-point 3rd quarter thanks to efforts by Reese Russi 12pts, Logan Conway 6pts, James Kohnke 5pts , that allowed them to get back into the game.
Bartram stormed out of the gate thanks to efforts by Darian Johnson 12pts ,Tim Plish 8pts, Bobbie Geter 7pts, and Grant Vaccaro 5pts. The Bear’s 20-point lead seemed insurmountable, yet second half defensive adjustments made it a game.
The win Ponte Vedra is now 1-2 on the short season and face Oakleaf tonight. Bartram falls to 0-1 and look to rebound versus rival St. Augustine.
