KISSIMMEE – Congratulations to the Grandpark Trojans on winning the 2018 Pop Warner Division III Junior Pee Wee Super Bowl championship after Grandpark defeated the North Raleigh Bulldogs 13-0 to be crowned Super Bowl champions.
For Grandpark, it is a national championship to go along with their Southeast Regional championship win over the Lehigh Acres Raiders 36-13. After going undefeated at 7-0 in the regular season, Grandpark defeated Oceanway to win the Greater Jacksonville Pop Warner City Championship.
It’s been a magical season for Coach Cal and his group of extraordinary young athletes. Players like #2 Naeem Burroughs who’s been with the program for several years, and is the younger brother of Quincy Burroughs whom also played at the historic park. Quincy famously led Ribault Middle to their first ever county championship last year after scoring the only touchdown on a pick 6. It’s a family affair in big games apparently, as younger brother duplicated the older brother as Naheem scored on a touchdown reception to give his team a two score advantage in the Pop Warner Super Bowl.
Grandpark started off fast scoring first in the contest when running back Zach Washington took a long run of 70 yards to the house. With the Trojan offense clicking on all cylinders, the defense shut down the Bulldogs led by #9 Aaron Lockett who made several tackles in the game. He and #1 Rod Coleman both secured interceptions in the contest controlling the airways on the afternoon.
For Grandpark, they bring another championship back to the park adorned as the “Home of the Champions”, this time a national championship.
