Who Had The #1 Recruiting Class in 2015??

247 Sports is possibly the top go to place to for college recruiting. Here’s their take on National Signing Day! 

“it looks like the recruiting “national championship” for the class of 2015 is finished – and Alabama is No. 1 for the fifth consecutive year. This version of No. 1 for Alabama features a remarkable six five-stars according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Those five-stars are: The No. 1 running back in the country, Damien Harris. The No. 1 wide receiver in the country, Calvin Ridley The No. 2 pro-style QB in the country, Blake Barnett The No. 4 cornerback in the country, Kendall Sheffield. The No. 5 cornerback in the country, Minkah Fitzpatrick The No. 7 defensive tackle in the country, Daron Payne. After landing the top offensive tackle in the country in 2014 with Freshman All-American Cameron Robinson, Alabama responded in 2015 with a loaded offensive interior group. Rivals is one of the premier recruiting sites in the country, so their take on this class was greatly anticipated.

  1. USC
  2. Alabama
  3. Florida State
  4. Clemson
  5. Tennessee

” Steve Sarkisian’s USC program finished the recruiting cycle with the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class and toppled the Tide in somewhat dramatic fashion.

Alabama’s four-year streak of top classes ended with a snap of sorts. All four of the five-star prospects that signed with the Trojans picked USC in the last 48 hours. Three of them (Iman Marshall, John Houston andRasheem Green) announced their intentions on Signing Day. The comeback wasn’t completely unexpected, but that didn’t make it any less significant.”

ESPN’s ranking differed slightly from the others. They too felt Alabama had the top class but considered FSU as the number two, not USC.
