Fab Five rankings remain the same with some teams off

For the sixth straight week, Providence remains the top team in the Fab Five boys basketball rankings after another dominating week. We also take a look at each district and get an idea on who are the top teams and looking like playoff contenders.

Fab Five Week 6 rankings

1 Providence (13-2)
Last ranking: 1
Last week: def. Godby 64-26
Next: Atlantic Coast (Jan 10)
Note: What Providence did to a state power Godby (10-2) was mind blowing, Godby came into the game with only one loss and left with a near 40 point beat down. These Stallions are for real and look to keep their mojo going with a game with Atlantic Coast on Thursday.

2 University Christian (12-2)
Last ranking: 2
Last week: Off
Next: Bishop Snyder (Jan 11), at West Nassau (Jan 12)
Note: The hottest team in the area might be University Christian, who has reeled off 10 straight wins since dropping back-to-back games to Jackson and Palatka back in early December. The Christians won back-to-back holiday tournaments over the last two weekends at Fleming Island and most recently at Palatka. After an extensive holiday run, the Christians took the week off but get back to the grind with a huge district game with Bishop Snyder on Friday.

3 First Coast (10-3)
Last ranking: 3
Last week: Off
Next: Lee (Jan 8), at Jackson (Jan 11), at Bartram Trail (Jan 12)
Note: Seven wins in a row has moved the Bucs up into the Top 5 for the first time this season. After a week off the Bucs will face a nice gauntlet of teams including Lee tonight, Jackson on Friday and a surging Bartram Trail on Saturday.

4 Bolles (12-2)
Last ranking: 4
Last week: def. Orange Park 40-39
Next: Seacoast (Jan 8), Bishop Kenny (Jan 11)
Note: For the second time this year, Bolles takes down Orange Park, only this time it was much closer. Bolles hosts Seacoast Christian tonight before a huge game with arch-rival Bishop Kenny looms Friday.

5 Impact Christian (11-1)
Last ranking: 5
Last week: Off
Next: First Coast Christian (Jan 8), Eagles View (Jan 11)
Note: After grueling Holiday month, Lions took the week off but return this week to winnable district games which will put them on track to get back to Lakeland.

Dropping out: None

Honorable Mention: Atlantic Coast (8-4), Bishop Snyder (7-7), (Clay (7-3), Englewood (7-3), Fleming Island (7-1), Palatka (9-2), Paxon (10-2), Raines (8-3)
