Jackson & Bolles Win Big in District Title Games!!

Callahan FL,  Ribault took on Jackson for the Class 4A District 4 title tonight. Ribault defeated  Raines and Jackson defeated Fernandina Beach last night to advance. The two teams are very familiar with one another after playing during their regular seasons. But as Ribault would find out quickly, familiarity is not always a good thing. Jackson jumped out to a commanding lead in the first quarter 18-4 thanks to Ricard Leggett’s overall play. He had six points in the first half as Jackson led 27-13.

Bobby McFadden of Ribault led all scores with nine points at halftime, Ted Williams also contributed six points to lift the Tigers which carried over into the second half. Jackson played complete team ball, with pin point passing and lights out shooting . The bigger Trojans could not get a handle on the quick and athletic Tigers.

Bolles vs Episcopal

Episcopal High School

Even though the Bolles Bulldogs were the away team in this contest, they were definitely familiar with the home court.  Bolles defeated Trinity on the same court just a night before to advance to this game. Familiarity with the court and rims was certainly a bonus for the bulldogs, but in this one they didn’t need it. Bolles cruised to victory 44-28 over Episcopal Saturday night to win the Boys 4A Varsity Basketball : Region 01 – District 03 title. Episcopal’s energy and enthusiasm was ripe for a victory as their players hustled and played hard all night. But Bolles was simply to tall, to long, and to athletic for the Eagles, as they won convincingly. Congratulations goes to the Bolles Bulldogs, District Champions.
