Georgia Extends 8th-Grade Running Back Treyaun Webb First SEC Offer

Trinity Christian Academy 8th grader and Duval Sports Top 50 Middle School player Treyaun Webb has been offered by the University of Georgia. Webb who stands at 6’0ft and 181lbs, is the first local athlete to be offered a football scholarship by an SEC school while still enrolled in middle school. He joins the unprecedented company of only a few athletes in the country to achieve such an honor.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart offered a football scholarship to Mike Robertson, Jr. out of Savannah in 2016. That was the closest middle school athlete near Northeast Florida to receive an offer from the SEC powerhouse until today.

Treyaun’s father Reginald Webb Jr said of his son’s offer, “I’m extremely proud of him and want him to stay focused on his grades while keeping God first”. Focused is something Webb has been for quite some time. He plays running-back, defensive back, and has turned heads in the last year.

He accumulated over 400 all purpose yards at running-back this past football season for Trinity while playing varsity football. His biggest performance was in a playoff game against Bolles where he closed out the contest with a 94-yard touchdown run. Without question, Webb’s play on the field has garnered the attention of several scouts. He already has offers from Valdosta State, Florida Atlantic, and The University of Miami. Add Georgia to the list of offers, which is sure to increase in the coming months.
