Lakeland- The Rivals 3 Stripe Camp has become a popular proving ground for high school football athletes to show what they are capable of on the gridiron. Players from around the country flock to the camps located in various cities to measure themselves against top talent, and to also measure themselves individually. For several Northeast Florida athletes, they were able to do both measuring themselves against some of the best talent in the nation, while providing a measuring stick for themselves to evaluate how far they’ve come.
For 2021 defensive-back Larry Smith, it was a great weekend as he brought home the Central Florida DB MVP award. Larry showed superb athleticism in drills and tremendous skill in one on ones. So much so that he caught the eye of camp coaches. He’s sure to catch the eyes of scouts and even coaches here in Jacksonville as he returns and prepares for spring football. Yet Smith wasn’t the only one who impressed down at the Central Florida camp.
Oakleaf Defensive End Chantz Williams shined at the invitation only event winning the defensive linemen MVP. He and teammate Jalen Rivers both came away with MVP awards as Jalen won the top offensive lineman distinction. Both will be invited to the prestigious Rival Challenge camp later this year.
2021 Running back Martranius Mack turned heads at the camp by winning the camp MVP award for outstanding running-back. Mack, a former Duval Sports Top 50 Middle School athlete will be one of the key components of the Ribault offensive attack this spring.
Many other athletes from Northeast Florida participated in the combine on Saturday and others were invited to the camp on Sunday. Check out some of the other sights and sounds from Lakeland below.
