Fletcher sends the Stingrays back up the coast

NEPTUNE BEACH- In a Friday night face-off, the Fletcher Senators would go on to blow the Atlantic Coast Stingrays out of the water hailing an 18-1 victory.

Show stopping sophomore Anthony Chacon led Fletcher with 5 goals and 4 assists while James Cronin followed with 3 assists. Nico DeGance would contribute 3 goals, 2 assists and Kelly Bickers would equally score 3 goals as well as 1 assist.

Two points a piece were scored by James Shaefer and Ayden Goodermote. Charles Fritts, Remy Cronin,and Andrew Peterson each would score 1 goal contributing to the Senators win. 

Fletcher head coach Dan ‘Rhino’ McAuliffe went on to later exclaim, “Our athletes were all over the field this evening. We are satisfied with the win.”

The Senators would ride the first quarter wave stagnating the Stingrays with quick plays and passes closing out with a piercing 6-0 lead. 

Fletcher world continue to lead Atlantic Coast deep into the second quarter while the Stingrays remained scoreless. Goalie Randy Prosswimmer remained diligently blocking Atlantic Coast’s scoring attempts.

However, the Stingrays would ultimately sting the Senators with a swift goal with less than a minute left in the quarter. Fletcher would go on to close out the first half of the game leading Atlantic Coast 12-1.

Third quarter would bring about a more determined and faster Stingray team, unfortunately the Senator defense would prove to be overwhelmingly dominant compromising all possibilities of a Stingray goal.  

M.C Hammer’s, ‘ You Can’t Touch This’ could be heard blaring in the airwaves as Fletcher ended the game. The Senators are now 3-0 in the district and 9-2 overall. Fletcher will face Episcopal this Tuesday.
