Mandarin HS- “It’s been an amazing year” said Mandarin Athletic Director Brian Rado. This after both of the Mustang’s girls and boys track & field teams won the 2018-2019 Gateway Conference Championships on Friday. The boys finished with 102 points to hoist the plaque after winning the last event of the evening, the 4 X 400 relay. Trailing Sandalwood 98 points to 92 points, the Mustangs would gut out another spectacular performance, just as the athletes have done all year in Football, Basketball and other sports.
Several Mustang track & field athletes secured victories in events throughout the week, as the prelims were completed Thursday followed by the finals on Friday. Check them out, as well as other teams and athletes that secured championships below. Here are the boys Gateway Conference winners for 2018-2019.
