Englewood shakes two game losing streak by burying Wolfson

SOUTHSIDE – All hailed to the black and gold as the Lady Rams rang the victory bell filled with soul glittering like pure gold as Englewood defeated arch-rival Wolfson 27-0 at Don Jarrett Stadium.

After succumbing to a colossal defeat, The Lady Wolfpack would exit the field full of tenacity and great sportsmanship as the Lady Rams celebrated the win. There were no losers  at Don Jarrett Stadium, only a field filled with young athletes encompassed by a deep compassion for the game of Flag Football.

“Tonight’s game is a testament to how hard the girls have been working. They are beginning to capitalize on opportunities and take advantage of the things given to them,” Englewood head coach Sean Foy said.

Coming off back-to-back losses, the Lady Rams revved up the action against Wolfson.

Strong arm quarterback Kya Quinn would lead her team by effortlessly throwing four touchdown passes. Against the odds, Faith Huckfeldt ripped through the Lady Wolfpack defense to score two touchdown runs.

Wolfson could not match  Englewood stonewall defense nor break through the clever and quick offense.

After successfully connecting with Quinn as well, Jazmine Caballeros and Luna Cardozo would each score a touchdown run fueling the Rams conquest.

The Lady Rams (4-3 overall, 4-2 district) play in one of the areas toughest Districts in District 3-1A, yet Foy and the Lady Rams are confident of a successful season and playoff berth.

Englewood travels to First Coast Monday and then Paxon on Thursday before finishing the regular season April 15-19 in the Gateway Conference tournament.
