Wolfson Serves up the Win Against Ribault

Ribault HS-The Lady Wolfpack invaded the Lady Trojan’s home pulling off a 3-set win over Ribault on Wednesday evening. Head Coach Barksdale Pullen would go on to say, “we had an amazing game despite some of the challenges the team has recently faced. The girls and I are excited because we took home our first win last night, and also a second win tonight. We plan to continue winning”.

Ribault would win the coin toss which would allow Sinia Pickens to begin the initial serve. The play would lead to an out of bounds play allowing a Lady Wolfpack score.  Tough serves from Wolfson’s Meagan Lamey were good and increased the teams points to 3-0, Wolfson.

Ribault’s Kayla Lockett long and direct serves would tie up the score 4-4. The Lady Trojan’s Pickett serves were so powerful that the ball would end up out of bounds. Her attacks were as equally powerful. An all out intense on the court competition would create a close game ending the first set 25-19, Wolfson. 

Caroline Posgay led the first serve of the second set for the Lady Wolfpack. The point would benefit Ribault as the Lady Trojans defense pushed back to begin a 2-0 lead.

Sascha Allen packed a wicked serve to score three consecutive Wolfson points. Brenda Nocetti and Lauren dominated with well worthy serves. Ribault experiences quite a few substitutions through out the second set. The Lady Wolfpack’s took off and did not look back ending the second set 25-12.

Pickens launched the third set’s serve to gain the Lady Trojans first point. Pickens next serve resulted in an out of bounds ball allowing Wolfson to gain control of the serve and earn the point. Azzyria Davis challenged the Lady Wolfpack defense sending out tough plays creating a staggering battle. Ribault’s DeViaan Price dances gracefully across the court. Wolfson’s Allen played a strategic defense game along with Annessia Graham.

Gillian Snowden’s tall stature and long arms displayed her incredible serve and blocking abilities through out the game. Snowden ruled on Wolfson’s defense and offense. The tough and exciting third set would eventually end with a 25-21 score, Wolfson.  

The Lady Trojans stood their grounds and did not go out without a battle. Ribault’s Coach Shelby Hawthorne would go on record to say, “The girls worked very hard tonight and rose to the occasion. We only have two returning varsity and we have great chemistry ”.  Lady Trojan playmaker Jermisha Glee was a standout player as well. 

The Lady Wolfpack team has certainly gotten off to a good start this season with two wins in one week. Captain Brenda Nocetti rallies behind the team with astounding support. Wolfson looks forward to a bright season filled with wins.
