The Ribault Lady Trojans took another step closer to repeating as champions on Tuesday evening, defeating the Trinity Christian Conquerors 82-35 . Trinity came into the contest having advanced to the regional semifinals by defeating the Raines Vikings. Ribault defeated Bolles in the previous round. The Trojans harassed the Conquerors all night forcing them to turn the ball over thanks to their suffocating defense. Their lead of 16 points after the first period signified trouble for Trinity.

Ribault scored 51 points in the first half and held their opponent to just 14 points. There’s not many starting fives in the city that can run like the Lady Trojans. Rennia Davis (28 pts),Kayla Rogers (15pts), Dawn Gipson, DayNeshia Banks(16 pts) and Nola Carter are five of the most talented players in the entire state. They never looked back in the second half of this contest, and it will be interesting to see what type of competition they will face as they get deeper in the playoffs. Some have clearly made their picks…
